We are looking for a Principal Engineer to perform advanced analyses of HVDC platforms using SESAM

On behalf of a leading company in the offshore energy sector, we are seeking an experienced Structural Analyses / Principal Engineer to perform advanced structural analyses for offshore HVDC converter platforms. You will support all project phases---from concept and FEED through detailed design, fabrication, transportation, installation, commissioning, and in-service conditions---ensuring compliance with relevant offshore standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform global and local structural analyses of HVDC platforms using SESAM (GeniE, Sestra, Wadam, Framework, etc.).

• Evaluate structural responses for:

  • In-place (operational and extreme environmental conditions)

  • Transportation and load-out

  • Lifting, lifting points, and temporary conditions

  • Installation and commissioning phases

• Perform code checks in accordance with DNV standards.

• Assess structural capacity for fatigue, ULS, ALS, and SLS.

• Support design of primary and secondary steel (e.g., deck structures and support frames).

• Prepare and review Design Basis, Structural Analysis Reports, and Calculations.

• Coordinate closely with electrical, layout, marine, and fabrication disciplines to secure integrated design solutions.

Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with the SESAM suite: GeniE, Sestra, Wadam, Framework.

• Experience with transportation, lifting, and installation analyses is highly desirable.

• Solid familiarity with steel structures subjected to dynamic and fatigue loading.

• Experience from EPCI/EPC projects is preferred.

• Knowledge of DNV offshore standards.

• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

• Systematic, accurate, and with strong technical judgment.

• Excellent communication skills in English and Norwegian, both written and oral.

Work Experience:

Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore structural engineering.

Proven experience with HVDC platforms, offshore substations, or large topside structures.

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
