Bus Drivers / Bus Sjåfør

FIRST ADVENTURES AS is seeking reliable and safety-focused Bus Drivers to join our transportation team in Tromsø. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently along assigned routes while providing excellent customer service. This position requires compliance with Norwegian transport regulations and a strong commitment to passenger safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a passenger bus along scheduled routes.

• Ensure passenger safety during boarding, travel, and disembarking.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

• Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures.

• Provide friendly and professional customer service to passengers.

• Maintain accurate logs and report any incidents or maintenance issues.

• Assist passengers with accessibility needs when required.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the legal requirements for operating a bus in Norway:

• Valid Category D Driver's License (Bus License) issued in Norway or recognized within the EEA.

• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC / Yrkessjåførkompetanse -- YSK) for passenger transport.

• Valid Driver Qualification Card (YSK card).

• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.

• Ability to communicate effectively in Norwegian or English.

• Minimum age requirements as required for professional bus drivers in Norway.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating buses or heavy vehicles.

• Good knowledge of local routes in Tromsø and surrounding areas.

• Customer service experience.

• Basic mechanical awareness for vehicle inspections.

Working Conditions

• Shift work including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysas our company operates every day during the peak winter season (1 October -- 31 March).

• Shifts include bus transfers between Tromsø & Malangen Resort, as well as Northern lights trips

• Operation in winter and Arctic driving conditions.

• Both full-time and part-time positions may be available.
