Software Developer/Data Scientist

We are currently looking to add development capacity in the Investment Business Delivery Team. You will be at the forefront of applying AI tools and data-driven approaches to solve complex challenges in one of the world's most sophisticated investment organizations. As a software Developer, you will be working in a highly skilled cross functional team, maintaining and developing our cutting edge solutions.

Our team’s focus is building new innovative solutions across the investment and trading areas at NBIM. Our goal is to create a culture of ownership and team autonomy, and to innovate and deliver business value faster and more efficiently. We are focused on delivering software products - not projects -- to our internal stakeholders, while allowing for experimentation and innovation.

The position is located in Oslo. Some travel may be required.

Duties and responsibilities

What you will do

• Lead and implement AI-assisted development practices, including the use of LLMs and generative AI tools to accelerate solution delivery.
• Play an active role in designing, architecting and implementing our software solutions.
• Develop and integrate data pipelines and analytical tools that support portfolio management and trading decisions.
• Collaborate with data scientists and quantitative analysts to translate models and insights into production-ready applications.
• Contribute towards a hardworking, high-performing team with a business mindset

We hope you have some of these skills:

• Strong programming skills with 0-3 years as a Software developer/data scientist:
  • Front-end: JavaScript/Typescript and frameworks like Angular, React, Node.js,
  • Back-end: .NET >Core, Python, SQL
• Familiaritywith AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) and prompt engineering practices
• Experience designing and developing APIs
• Knowledge and experience with AWS and serverless computing
• Experience with data science workflows and libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy...) is a plus
• Exposure to ML frameworks or data visualization tools (e.g. Streamlit) is advantageous
