We are recruiting a Country Advisor to the SAWA (Southern and West Africa) Division, based at our Head Office in Oslo. In this role, you will work closely with NCA's country offices in DRC and Nigeria, acting as the key link between Head Office and the field. You ensure quality, structure and momentum across programmes that matter, working across the programme cycle from planning and monitoring to evaluation and reporting. You will also handle ad hoc and time?critical processes. The role requires close collaboration, sound judgement and the ability to prioritise when the pace is high.
About the teamThe SAWA Division is a small team of three Country Advisors, led by the Head of Division, who work closely together to support NCA's country offices. The team is characterised by professionalism, trust and genuine collegial warmth. They share responsibility and solve challenges together.
Key responsibilitiesYou will:

Ensure quality, compliance and progress across the full programme cycle for country offices in DRC and Nigeria, including funding acquisition, grant management and donor reporting

Support country offices in complex and time?critical processes, including emergency response and organisational change

Act as a trusted advisor to country offices and advise the Head of Division on programme performance and contextual developments

Represent NCA in dialogue with donors, networks and relevant fora, and support internal communication on country programmes

Contribute to analysis, learning and continuous improvement across the portfolio
We are looking for a colleague who combines professional strength with a collaborative mindset.
Must-have-
Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)

Relevant higher education (Master's degree or equivalent) in social sciences or a related field

Experience with programme work and coordination, preferably around 2-3 years

You are comfortable working with digital systems (experience with PIMS is an advantage, but not required)

Norwegian language skills

Experience working closely with country offices or partners
You are structured and proactive, yet flexible when priorities shift.
You stay calm under pressure, build strong relationships, and enjoy finding solutions together with others.
You communicate clearly, see both the bigger picture and the details that make things work**.**
