As our new senior Logistics Advisor, you will be a member of our skilled Global Logistics team. You will be based either in our Head Office in Oslo or in any one of our 20 established country offices. As part of this team, you will be responsible for providing logistics support to our country offices and local partner organisations and engaging in emergency responses on a global basis.
The Global Logistics team is responsible for continued development and implementation of logistics and procurement policies, ensuring compliance to donor requirements and that risks are minimised. As part of the team, you will provide capacity development to our staff and partners; you will review logistics and procurement processes to ensure compliance to procedures; you will assess logistics and procurement processes in our country offices and partners to identify any systematic weaknesses. Experience with audits, assessments or other reviews would be of great benefit in this role, though not essential.
Main responsibilities- Provide procurement and logistics capacity building to NCA country offices with a focus on strengthening Country Office logistics teams, local partner organisations and non-logistics staff like programme and finance staff.
- Monitor and assess country offices and partners to identify strengths, weaknesses, and risks.
- Support Country Offices and partners with major procurements and during emergencies when required.
- Contribute to developing and updating policies and procedures for logistics related activities regarding emergency relief work, procurement policies and logistics routines.
- Support cross-functional cooperation at our Head Office and in Country Offices.
- Travel to country offices on a regular basis
- Minimum 5-7 years of work experience at national/international level in logistics and procurement management.
- Relevant education in areas related to logistics and procurement.
- Very good knowledge of English, both written and verbally.
- Education in humanitarian logistics.
- Experience from humanitarian work.
- Experience with sustainable procurement and logistics.
- Working experience from Africa, Middle East, and/or Asia.
- Working knowledge of French.
- Good people skills and team oriented.
- Ability to network and establish good relations with staff, management, and partner organisations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and pedagogical skills
- Constructive, flexible and solution focused.
- Structured with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Culturally sensitive.
- Must be able to manage high workloads and stressful circumstances.
- Independent work in a highly satisfying and impactful job.

This position is not classified as an expatriate role and does not come with family duty station benefits. The role is remunerated either in accordance with Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) policy for national staff in the country of employment or head office staff in Oslo, Norway.
