Telenor Norway is on a digitization journey where IT is becoming increasingly central to our customer offering. We are now looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the Mitt Telenor team -- the team behind one of Telenor’s most important digital products.
Mitt Telenor is a React-Native application written primarily in TypeScript, with native components in Java/Kotlin (Android) and Objective-C/Swift (iOS). The app serves as the main portal for Telenor Norway’s services and plays a vital role in the daily lives of hundreds of thousands of Norwegians.
As our new Lead Software Engineer , you will take on the Tech Lead role and help drive the development of user-centric services that make digital life easier and safer. You’ll work closely with our product and design teams, contributing both technically and strategically.
What will your role focus on:• Lead by Example: Take on the most critical development tasks while also mentoring and uplifting other developers in the team.
• Drive Technical Direction: Shape the technology stack and architectural decisions for the team -- and contribute to strategic choices across the organization.
• Collaborate & Prioritize: Work with the product owner to guide team priorities, balancing product development, technical debt, and internal initiatives.
• Inspire & Motivate: Foster team discussions that lead to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Work Cross-Functionally: Be a central part of the product/tech/UX trio and collaborate across Telenor’s professional communities.
• Promote Agile Values: Contribute to a strong DevOps and agile methodology culture.
• 5+ years of relevant software development experience

• Experience with React or React-Native and app development
• A genuine passion for programming and creating testable, scalable, and reliable software
• Familiarity with agile development practices and DevOps
• Team-player mindset and experience working in cross-functional environments
• Norwegian understanding is a plus, but not required
• Bonus if you’ve worked on open-source projects or personal software projects -- we’d love to hear about them!
• A working environment built on trust and strong culture , where your input is valued and you’ll collaborate with experts across disciplines
• A flexible hybrid workday , whether at home, from the cabin, or in our modern office at Tyholt in Trondheim
• Emphasis on learning and development , with dedicated time for self-growth and career progression
• Competitive compensation, very good pension and insurance schemes , generous parental leave, and extra holidays at Christmas and Easter
• Access to company cabins , internal sports clubs, and an on-site fitness center
• A strong sense of community -- and the opportunity to build innovative services used by hundreds of thousands of people
• Application deadline: 01.05.2025
• Location: Trondheim (Telenor Tyholt)
• Contact: Sigurd Thunem -- sigurd.thunem@telenor.no / +47 91783636
• We conduct background check on relevant candidates through Semac AS.
