Relevant Qualifications and Desired Experience:
  • An appropriate degree in Education, with Maths as a speciality

  • Meet the Norwegian requirement for 60 study points within Mathematics

  • contribute to an innovative educational environment

  • Certified teacher status in Norway.

  • A valid work permit or meet the requirements to work and live in Norway

  • Experience teaching in the IB MYP

  • An understanding and commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures. All successful candidates will undergo an extensive background check.

  • Provide a police background check from your home country and any country you have resided in for 6+ months in the last 10 years. Police background checks must be no more than 3 months old and can be presented prior to appointment.

  • Be committed to the philosophy and practice of the International Baccalaureate . Experience in the IB would be an advantage.

Candidates will be expected to comply with ISB's child protection policy

Arbeidsoppgaver

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Teaching and learning:
  • Create a warm learning environment that supports inquiry-based learning,

  • Foster students' self-esteem, motivation and social responsibility,

  • Empower students to become independent learners

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and students to maintain positive, supportive relationships and ensure continuity and progression in the curriculum,

Student life beyond the classroom:
  • Supervise students as per the playground duty roster,

  • Take an active part in House and sporting activities, field trips and residential trips as required,

  • Support community events throughout the year.

General:
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of an environment of safety in which every child can flourish,

  • Conduct oneself professionally, operating at all times in line with ISB's Core Values, policies and procedures,

  • Demonstrate a willingness to communicate openly, calmly and professionally as part of the ISB team

  • Be an active, positive participant in collaborative planning and meetings

  • Teaching assignments are subject to change depending on need.

Om bedriften

ISB is a co-educational private day school which is authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate PYP and MYP programmes. The school currently has approximately 250 students enrolled from more than 30 nations and is experiencing expanding enrolment. Classes are small with a range of 15-22 students in each instructional group.
