Primary Norwegian A Teacher

100% teaching position, starting August 2023

OIS seeks a qualified professional with a child-centred approach to learning, excellent pedagogical training and classroom practice, strong collegial relationships, and a commitment to contributing to the development of the Norwegian learning programme and school community at OIS.

The teacher appointed to this role will have autonomy and creative freedom as they collaborate with a team of highly qualified Norwegian teachers. This role does not come with "contact teacher" responsibilities, but the appointed teacher would work with more than one year level.

Requirements

• Proficient Norwegian speaking and writing skills
• Native Norwegian fluency
• Teaching certification, approved through NOKUT or a similar organization overseas
• Experience as language teacher
• Proficient English skills

• Experience teaching Norwegian
• Experience in an international school setting
• Experience teaching primary school students
• Excellent technology skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other Norwegian teachers
• Plan and teach effective lessons following the national curriculum
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
• Prepare students for national tests
• Contribute to the professional collegiality of the school staff
