About the roleMaran Shuttle Tankers Norway AS (MST) conducts administrative and technical services to the VOC Industry Cooperation (VOCIC). MST is seeking a skilled and motivated VOC Superintendent to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of VOC reduction systems across multiple vessels and vessel owners operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for VOCIC.
The role is central to maintaining high technical standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement within VOC operations. The VOC Superintendent works across technical and operational disciplines in close cooperation with vessel crews, onshore vessel management, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities-
Ensure safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance in all activities.

Support, advise, and follow up vessel owners to optimize the performance of installed VOC reduction systems in accordance with the agreements between VOCIC and partners.

Supervise service activities, including coordination of service providers.

Plan, organize, and follow up yard stays and repair work.

Conduct onboard inspections and participate in major repairs and yard stays.

Monitor and follow up the daily operation of VOC reduction systems across multiple vessels and owners.

Review cost-effectiveness, quality, accuracy, and compliance with operational standards.

Contribute to the development and implementation of VOC operational standards and objectives.

Prepare and follow up VOC operating budgets.

Maintain effective collaboration and service delivery toward vessel owners and other stakeholders.

Support emergency response activities when required.

Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and decision-making skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset.

Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing operational environments.

Experience from ship management or a comparable operational role.

Good coordination skills and strong understanding of vessel operations.

In-depth knowledge of VOC plants or equivalent gas or process facilities.

Relevant technical education and experience, such as Chief Engineer, 1st or 2nd Engineer, Process Engineer, Automation Engineer, Refrigeration Engineer, Electrician, or similar.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
