Would you like to help further develop PET-CT and SPECT-CT services in one of Norway's most scenic regions?

We are seeking a nuclear medicine specialist to join a modern hospital on the west coast of Norway. You will become part of a growing nuclear medicine service, working clinically with PET-CT and SPECT-CT in close collaboration with oncology, surgery, and other clinical specialties. The role combines day-to-day diagnostic work with involvement in the further development of nuclear medicine services.

About the department

The department of nuclear medicine is part of the radiology service at the hospital. The unit operates both PET-CT (established in 2021) and SPECT-CT systems in a technologically advanced environment. The department collaborates closely with oncology and surgical specialties and is part of an academic network with major university hospitals in Norway.

Location

The hospital is located in a well-established coastal town on Norway's west coast, known for its maritime history and compact city centre. The region offers immediate access to fjords, mountains and coastal landscapes, as well as good transport connections, cultural venues and family-friendly infrastructure. This makes it a practical location for combining professional work with everyday life in a smaller Norwegian city.

Main responsibilities
  • Interpretation and reporting of PET-CT and SPECT-CT examinations.

  • Participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

  • Supervision of resident doctors and radiographers/technologists.

  • Contribution to quality improvement and development of nuclear medicine methods.

Qualifications
  • Medical license and specialist certification in nuclear medicine from an EU/EEA country. Assistance is provided for obtaining Norwegian authorization and specialist recognition.

  • Experience with PET-CT is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian.

  • Strong collaboration skills, professional integrity and the ability to work efficiently in a clinical environment.

The hospital offers
  • Permanent full-time position in an enthusiastic and professional team.

  • A high-end technical environment featuring equipment from leading providers, including GE Healthcare.

  • Excellent opportunities for professional development and participation in relevant courses.

  • A unique location close to fjords, mountains and a vibrant cultural scene.

Benefits with Dignus Medical:
  • Ongoing support from a recruiter before, during and after your employment.

  • Assistance with obtaining Norwegian authorization and approvals.

  • Help with accommodation and relocation for you and your family.

  • Access to a free Norwegian language course with a private tutor online.
