Specialist in Ophthalmology to Northern Norway

On behalf of a modern and welcoming hospital in Northern Norway, we are seeking a Specialist in Ophthalmology for a permanent position.

The position offers a varied and clinically interesting workday, including outpatient consultations, intravitreal injections, eyelid and lacrimal duct surgery and cataract surgery. There is no on-call duty; however, the department provides emergency ophthalmic care during daytime hours.

The outpatient clinic is a small and well-functioning unit staffed by two experienced nurses and a medical secretary, working closely with the ophthalmologists in a professional, efficient and collegial environment.

The hospital places strong emphasis on sustainable work--life balance and offers flexible working arrangements. The position can be organised as regular daytime work with weekends and public holidays off, or as a rotation schedule with longer working and off-duty periods, depending on individual preferences.

Qualifications

• Authorisation as a medical doctor within the EU/EEA

• Specialist recognition in ophthalmology within the EU/EEA

• Strong clinical competence and good communication skills

• Good command of English and motivation to learn Norwegian (free language training is provided)
