We are strengthening our global legal team and are looking to hire three business-oriented Senior Legal Counsel, each specializing in one of the following areas: Shipping & Finance, Commercial Contracts, or**Competition Law.**As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, providing strategic legal guidance and partnership that helps enable Wallenius Wilhelmsen to achieve its long-term ambitions in a complex, ever-changing environment.

These roles will be part of our global legal team of 15 lawyers and advisors, located in Lysaker, the United States, South Korea, and El Salvador. The positions will report to the General Counsel and will be based at our office in Lysaker.
About the rolesAs a Senior Legal Counsel, you will support Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s global operations by providing high-quality legal advice that enables informed and strategic decision-making. You will advise on complex matters, contribute to cross-functional projects, and act as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the organization. Your work will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while facilitating commercially sound solutions.
Key Responsibilities-
Provide proactive, high-quality legal advice within your specialist area of law and in accordance with the business needs.

Act as a trusted legal partner to stakeholders globally on strategic initiatives, transactions, and operational matters.

Identify and manage legal and compliance risks while enabling commercially sound decision-making.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements and documentation with partners, customers, suppliers and other third parties.

Drive workstreams forward with structure and accountability, ensuring steady progress and timely delivery.

Develop policies, guidelines, templates, and frameworks for the business to strengthen operational excellence and contribute to increased competitiveness.

Manage and follow up on legal disputes within your area of responsibility.

Engage with external counsel when needed and manage those relationships effectively.

Contribute to continuous improvement within the global legal team by promoting knowledge sharing and best practices, while demonstrating a collaborative team-player approach.

Your Qualifications & Background-
Master of law degree preferably from Norway and/or the UK, with strong academic results.

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a legal professional, preferably from a reputable law firm and/or an in-house legal position.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across functions and cultures.

Strong commercial mindset with a practical, balanced approach to legal problem-solving to enable sound business decisions.

A collaborative team player who actively contributes to knowledge sharing and a strong, inclusive legal team culture.

Independent, proactive and self-driven, with strong judgment and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
