Lead IT Support Technician

We are expanding our IT team and are looking for a skilled and proactive Lead IT Support Technician to join us on our journey. This role combines overseeing day-to-day IT support operations with hands-on technical troubleshooting to ensure high-quality support for our end-users. You will also collaborate with the rest of the IT Department on ongoing and future projects within our organization. 

The IT Department is responsible for managing, securing, developing and ensuring compliance of all IT-systems and infrastructure at Andøya Space. The IT Department is a part of the Operation Support Division. The department also support and advice in operational activities in Missile, Ballistic Rockets and Orbital launches.

Working tasks / responsabilities

The responsibilities of the Lead IT Support Technician will be as a team lead in our IT Core and support section and will report to the IT Director. The main tasks and responsibilities are:

• Supervise and mentor our IT Core and support staff on a day-to-day basis
• Manage and maintain our IT Service management system (ITSM) across the company
• Ensure that incoming support tickets are prioritized and resolved in time and complex issues are escalated
  
• Maintain IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and procedures
  
• Troubleshoot complex user-, hardware-, software-, and basic network issues
  
• Ensure user, hardware and software solutions are set up and maintained properly according to internal procedures
  
• Ensure the inventory of IT equipment and licenses are maintained and updated
  
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards
  
• Collaborate and support our IT Systems and security section on IT Projects, system upgrades, rollouts and deployments/migrations
  
• Recommend improvements to enhance overall user experience, support and efficiency of the IT Core and support section
  

The position might also work towards operations and campaigns. This may include some travelling, work outside normal working hours and across remote land areas. 

Qualifications - education

We are seeking an applicant with an education or equivalent in the field of IT and information systems and who has some experience with the following topics:

• Previous experience with IT support for at least 2 years
  
• Experience with service management systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira etc.)
  
• Experience with administration of IT on-prem systems, cloud environments, software and applications management, remote support, MDM-solutions and networking fundamentals.
  
• Experience with scripting (e.g. Powershell) and automation
  
• IT Certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of relevant IT frameworks such as ITIL, NIST, ISO and CIS Controls

• Applicant must be able to gain a National Norwegian Security Clearance
• Fluent in Norwegian oral and writing
  
• Proficient in English oral and writin
  
• Applicants must have a Class B driver’s license
