ACD Pharma is a world-leading company within applied bacteriophage research and production, developing sustainable alternatives to antibiotics in aquaculture and beyond. Building on our established R&D capabilities, we are strengthening our laboratory operations in Leknes.

We are now recruiting a combined Laboratory Operations Manager and Laboratory Engineer. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role where you will both run daily lab operations and actively contribute in the lab.

You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality laboratory performance while working directly with phage biology, microbiology, and fish health.

Key responsibilities

Laboratory operations:

  • Ensure efficient daily operation of the laboratory in Leknes
  • Maintain and develop SOPs, quality standards, and documentation
  • Coordinate lab activities, planning, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with biosafety, quality, and internal standards
  • Support project execution and reporting to R&D leadership
  • Contribute to training, onboarding, and coordination of lab staff

Hands-on laboratory work

  • Perform microbiological and bacteriophage-related lab work
  • Work with fish pathogens and diagnostic assays
  • Execute and optimize in vitro assays and microbiological methods
  • Contribute to experimental design and troubleshooting
  • Support development of phage-based applications for aquaculture
Qualifications
  • Higher education (MSc) in microbiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, or related field
  • Strong hands-on laboratory experienceis essential
  • Proven experience in microbiology and/or bacteriophage work
  • Experience with fish pathogens, aquaculture, or diagnostics is highly desirable
  • Experience with laboratory operations, coordination, or team support
  • Familiarity with SOPs, quality systems, and structured lab workflows
Required skills
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English (written and spoken)
  • Strong practical lab skills and problem-solving ability
  • Structured, reliable, and quality-oriented
  • Able to balance operational responsibility with hands-on work
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • International and open-minded mindset, with ability to work in a diverse environment
