Bergen Guideservice is one of the leading providers of high-quality guided tours in Bergen and the surrounding fjord region. We create memorable, personal experiences for visitors from all over the world, with a strong focus on cultural insight, authentic storytelling and excellent service. All our tours are private and tailor-made. This means every assignment is different, and the work is truly meaningful. We collaborate with well-known travel companies worldwide -- and throughout the season, it’s not uncommon that you’ll guide a celebrity or high-profile guest. We are now recruiting candidates for our Guide Training Program, starting in January 2026, leading to full certification as an authorized guide according to the standards of the Norwegian Guide Federation (NGF). If you are already an experienced guide, we would also like to hear from you. You may be considered directly for a guide position for the 2026 season. Who We Are Looking For

Languages (high priority):

Other languages are also a strong advantage.

You are someone who:

• Has a friendly, welcoming personality

• Enjoys meeting people from all cultures and backgrounds

• Is passionate about Norwegian nature, history, culture and storytelling

• Communicates clearly and confidently

• Is flexible and adaptable -- assignments can vary from day to day

• Is reliable, honest and takes pride in professional conduct

• Can work actively during the high season (May--November)

Great! We would love to hear from you. You may be considered directly for a guide position for the 2026 season.

What You Will Do

• Guide private walking tours, bus tours and boat tours in Bergen

• Guide visitors from international tour operators and cruise ships

• Lead private and group tours to museums, attractions and cultural sites

• Deliver tailor-made tours: culinary walks, mountain hikes, themed tours -- and much more

• Act as airport transfer guide for guests arriving/departing Bergen

• Guide full-day tours to our main destinations in Hardangerfjord and Sognefjord/Flåm

• Serve as tour leader on multi-day trips for our clients

• Share facts, stories and anecdotes about Bergen’s history, culture, architecture and nature

• Ensure every tour is carried out safely and professionally

• Collaborate with other guides, drivers, cruise partners and our booking team

• Represent Bergen Guideservice as an ambassador of our shared cultural heritage

  How We Work -- Important to Know

  All our guides operate as independent contractors (ENK) .
  We have chosen this model to keep maximum flexibility for both sides -- and to be able to offer very competitive pay levels for our guides.

  You invoice us for the assignments you do, and in return you have:

  If you are new to ENK or have never invoiced before, we will help you with the practical setup and questions.
