Responsible for the design, development, and lifecycle ownership of control system software for HMH equipment. The position requires strong technical expertise in PLC programming and system integration, combined with the ability to take full accountability for delivering robust, reliable, and efficient control system solutions.
The Lead Engineer plays a key role in driving technical decisions, ensuring high-quality implementations, and supporting continuous improvement across projects. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers, while also mentoring less experienced engineers and promoting best practices.
Job Responsibilities-
Lead the design and development of HMH Equipment Control System solutions

Take end-to-end ownership of control system software deliveries, from concept through commissioning and support

Diagnose complex issues in existing PLC systems and drive effective, sustainable solutions

Ensure robust integration of PLC systems with other automation components and interfaces
-
Define and maintain high standards for software quality, reliability, and maintainability
-
Drive technical decisions and contribute to system architecture and design improvements
-
Review and validate technical solutions, including code, documentation, and test results
-
Produce and ensure high-quality, structured documentation aligned with project and customer requirements
-
Act as a key interface with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on technical solutions and delivery expectations

Support project execution by proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities
-
Mentor and support other engineers to strengthen team capability and consistency
-
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tools, and processes
-
Take full accountability for assigned scope, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery

Promote and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies
Technical degree from a college or university. Relevant professional experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
Experience-
Minimum 5 years of experience in control system software engineering

Proven experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system integration
-
Experience working with complex industrial automation systems and multi-disciplinary environments
-
Experience in project delivery, including commissioning and customer interaction, is an advantage
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges
-
High level of accountability and ownership, with a proactive and structured approach to work
-
Ability to make sound technical decisions and justify them to stakeholders
-
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
-
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to guide and support others

Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
-
Proficiency with Siemens PLC platforms (Simatic Classic / TIA Portal and DasyLab)
-
Strong experience with PLC programming languages (FBD, STL, SCL)
-
Experience with industrial communication networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus)

Solid understanding of instrumentation and electrical systems

Experience with process and/or machine control systems

Experience with system testing, validation, and commissioning
