Helse Fonna HF comprises four hospitals in Haugesund, Stord, Odda and Valen, as well as four district psychiatric centres (DPS). We have more than 4,000 employees who all work purposefully to provide the best possible treatment and care for our patients. Helse Fonna serves 19 municipalities with around 180,000 inhabitants.

Our employees are our most important resource. We place great emphasis on recruiting the best talents and do our utmost to ensure that all employees are satisfied in their work. With us, you will have a genuine collaboration with our geriatrician, who has many years of experience from hospital work both on the inpatient ward and in the outpatient clinic.

Haugesund is a city on the western coast of  Norway and is the regional center for 110.000 inhabitants. Haugesund Hospital is a general public hospital, located in the city of Haugesund. It is a part of the teaching facility network of Regional Health Authority of Western Norway.

Would you like to join a dynamic, energetic and diverse clinical team? If so, the Hematology/Endocrinology/Infectious Diseases unit could be the perfect place for you.
We are a 16-bed medical ward covering three specialised fields, offering you the opportunity to work broadly and variably within hematology, endocrinology, and infectious diseases. In 2027, we look forward to moving into brand-new facilities. At that time, Endocrinology/Infectious Diseases will merge with Gastroenterology/Nephrology, while Hematology will become its own dedicated department.

Our ward treats patients with complex and multifaceted internal medicine conditions — particularly blood disorders, diabetes, chronic wounds, and serious infections such as tuberculosis, meningitis, endocarditis, and selected tropical diseases.

Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. Professionals from multiple disciplines collaborate closely to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

With two Professional Development Nurse, union representatives, health and safety officers, facilitators, and structured peer support, we have built a strong and knowledgeable professional environment that continuously ensures high standards in our clinical practice.

Our department is an excellent place for both professional growth and personal development. You will become part of a community that has proudly received multiple awards for its outstanding work environment.
