As we continue our growth journey---driven by expansion into new markets and product categories---we are strengthening our material team with the addition of a Fabric & Trim Manager.
Fabric & Trim Manager will be responsible for the sourcing and development of materials in line with seasonal design directions and sustainability objectives. Amundsen Sports primarily sources materials from Europe, in alignment with our European-based production. The role involves daily communication with suppliers and the development of long-term partnerships through close collaboration, supplier visits, and attendance at fabric fairs. You will also be responsible for material testing and ensuring the quality and performance of selected fabrics and trims.
As part of the Product team, you will work closely with the R&D and Material Manager and be a main support to the product developers and designers. We are seeking a proactive and self-driven individual with a proven ability to take initiative. The position is located at Bogstadveien 11 (Oslo) and reports to Head of Design.
Key responsibilities and tasks include:-
Fabric and trim sourcing/development for each season (technical, woven, knits).

Arrange, review and approve material lab dips for SMS and bulk production.

Negotiate price, MOQ and lead times.

Fabric planning for proto, SMS and bulk production to make sure fabric is ordered and delivered on time.

To communicate and work closely with our product team, supply chain and vendors.

Arrange and follow up on material testing and quality control and handle claims with suppliers.

Implementation of processes and structures where needed.

Ensuring and be in forefront in terms of sustainability and animal welfare.

Minimum of 3 years working experience with materials, sourcing and production.

A degree in Textile Material Technology/Engineering is preferred but not required.

Good knowledge of quality and testing standards.

Experienced in computer programs such as Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PLM.

Fluent in English

Interested in materials and related technology. Eager to find new innovations and developments to use within textiles.

Good knowledge about the full textile process from fibres, yarns, production technology, chemicals and certificates.

Confident in negotiating prices and terms.
