We are seeking an exceptional Senior Industrial Designer to join our Resuscitation Hardware team to enhance our customer and user experience towards the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) program teaching CPR practice to millions of learners worldwide. In this role, you will drive ongoing explorations and developments both in the immediate term and long term, ensuring our hardware designs effectively address the needs of users and customers to help us reach our goal of helping save lives.
About you:You are a mission-driven designer that think about the vision and big picture, and yet you enjoy being hands-on with end-users as well as prototyping and developing our hardware products. You bring a positive mindset, you actively include people in design processes, you have endless curiosity, you find patterns in user insights and can translate needs to tangible solutions.
Key responsibilities:-
Collaborate with other designers, product managers, engineers and manufacturing teams to conceptualize, prototype, validate, and refine solutions that prioritize desirability, viability and feasibility

Identify insights and opportunities through qualitative and quantitative research to improve hardware products, including Resuscitation Manikins and RQI training stations

Establish a vision and strategy for our RQI related resuscitation hardware products in partnership with your tri-core team (design, engineering and product manager)

Ensure new developments align with Laerdal's design language and the vision of the Resuscitation Hardware Team

Work closely with the RQI Program Design Director, Service Designer, and RQI partners to maintain design consistency across the RQI Program

A bachelor's or master's degree in industrial design
-
Deep understanding of user-entered design methodologies and proven track record of involving users throughout the design process

Highly developed design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work

Excellent communication and visualization skills, including sketching, rapid prototyping, journey mapping, and, 3D modeling

Experience in designing solutions that integrate physical, digital, and service touchpoints
-
Experience with crafting product visions and strategies

Experience in stakeholder management

5+ years of relevant experience
