About The Role

With a central role as a Network Engineer, you will be entrusted with critical responsibilities such as managing IT infrastructure, overseeing network operations, and contributing to improved data security. The position includes maintaining, securing, and enhancing data and network systems. The role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to confidentiality, and proficiency in handling sensitive information---all of which directly contribute to the seamless operation of our technological infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, VMs, firewalls, VPNs).

• Monitor system resource usage, trends, and capacity planning.

• Provide level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.

• Contribute to implementing security tools, policies, and procedures.

• Participate in regular audits to maintain compliance with security standards, and promptly manage security incidents or network breaches.

• Assist in establishing configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and successful implementation of changes in the network infrastructure.

About You:

Skills & Experience:

• Relevant IT education, preferably with specialization in networking or security.

• College or university degree, for example at the Bachelor level in IT or information security. Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are an advantage.

• Experience with programming, particularly Python, is a plus.

• Hands-on experience in building, operating, monitoring, and diagnosing networks.

• Practical experience with administration and configuration of server technologies.

• Experience and understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.

• A results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to work independently and take initiative when needed.

• Strong collaboration skills that promote a positive and productive team environment.

• Solid communication skills in both English and Norwegian, written and verbal.
