Vard Interiors is a turnkey supplier of interior, piping and HVAC systems for the maritime industry. We deliver accommodation solutions and strive to provide an efficient and safe work environment for our customers and employees.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive professional to take on the role of Supervisor/Coordinator Piping within the Pipe Installation Department. The position involves technical supervision, coordination of installation activities and close collaboration with engineering, production and quality departments. Work will take place on one of our yards in Norway (Langstein, Søvik or Brattvaag).
Main systems include chilled water, central heating, sanitary and fresh-water cooling.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the complete delivery of the piping scope to the end customer in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, schedule and budget
- Supervise pipe installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks
- Monitor daily progress, manpower performance and installation KPIs
- Coordinate work with other disciplines (HVAC, outfitting, hull) to secure correct sequencing and avoid production conflicts
- Ensure correct execution of pressure tests, flushing, documentation and system readiness for commissioning
- Follow up material consumption, consumables and stock levels
- Support QA/QC with inspections, punch items and documentation review
- Report deviations, technical issues and changes that may affect time or cost
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of piping systems and good understanding of schematic and functional drawings
- Knowledge of safe work methods and installation practices
- Experience with tools and materials used in pipe installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair
- Ability to interpret constructive drawings, isometrics and technical specifications
- Ability to read manuals, procedures and use common installation tools
- Ability to use 3D viewer tools
- Understanding of classification requirements (DNV, ISO or other relevant standards) is an advantage
- Experience with planning work packages and job cards is an advantage
Personal qualities
- Good spoken and written English
- Good computer skills, including MS Office
- Strong leadership, coordination and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Practical mindset and hands-on attitude suitable for installation and commissioning tasks
- Team-oriented, structured, reliable and responsible
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment
