Location/ municipality: Gran, Norway, 40 min from Oslo Airport Gardermoen. 1 hour from Oslo

Full time, 37 hours per week (possibility of extra hours)

Duration: About 5 months or longer. Start approx. April 24 - September 24.

Salary: 34 500 NOK per month (gross) brutto

The work includes taking care of the bee colonies during the season. Prevent swarming and ensure that the colonies have enough space during the season. We are looking for a person who likes to have many bees in the air, is orderly and social, and enjoys working in nature on the bees' terms. You should also be able to be self-going, and based on your experience make the strategic decisions for as large a crop as possible. The employment also includes harvesting the hives and processing in our top modern facility on the farm.

Queen breeding is also an important part of the operation. You must be able to master the area from A to Z. Other tasks include to transport the bee colonies up in the mountains (for heather honey) at the end of July, and return again in the end of August. You must also be prepared to do other simple tasks at the farm.

Heier Du Reitz was established in 2013 as a hobby project in Oslo. Today it has grown to over 450 bee colonies and 40 urban apiaries in and around Oslo. We produce Oslo honey, wild raspberry honey and heather honey.

Queen production is also a big part of the operation, primarily for our own use.

· Beekeeper / minimum 1 years experience

· Good understanding of the bees' values

· Likes to work both in a team and alone

If you have documented education, this is a plus but not a requirement.

· NB! Driver’s Licence (minimum B) is a must !

· Good physique and tolerance to bee stings

· Queen breeding

· References from similar tasks

· Language: English. If you can speak Norwegian or Swedish, that is a plus
