About the positions
2-3 three-year teaching positions for Associate Professors II in the areas of personality psychology are available at the PROMENTA Research Center at the Department of Psychology. The teaching obligations will be within personality psychology and related fields such as mental health, prevention, and developmental psychology.
More about the position
The positions are teaching positions (170 teaching hours per year for a 10% position). The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching activities at the PROMENTA Research Center. Responsibilities include teaching, supervision, and preparation and grading of examinations across all programs offered at the Department of Psychology, including the clinical, bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD, programs. Moreover, candidates are expected to carry out administrative duties as needed by the department. The allocation of position size (10% or 20%) will be based on the department’s needs and the candidate’s preference.
The PROMENTA Research Center carries out interdisciplinary research on mental health and well-being in a holistic perspective – from genetics and biology to local communities and policy. We are concerned with examining determinants of good and poor mental health, understanding how social inequalities emerge, and designing and evaluating effective interventions to promote well-being. The center is responsible for organizing a range of courses within the subjects of personality psychology, developmental psychology, and mental health. Qualifications
Qualification requirements- PhD in psychology or equivalent academic qualifications with an excellent research profile including topics of personality psychology.
- A solid teaching record at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in in personality psychology including course organization, lectures, seminars, supervision, and examinations.
- Ability to fill teaching obligations within the center.
Excellent oral and written proficiency in English and Norwegian (or other Scandinavian languages)
Residency in the Oslo metropolitan area is expected.
- Research background in mental health, wellbeing, genetics, psychometrics, or longitudinal designs.
- A developmental perspective in personality research is a clear advantage.
- An innovative and active research profile with excellent potential for high quality research output.
- Teaching experience in psychometrics, assessment, and developmental psychology.
- High expertise in quantitative analysis (e.g. structural equation, multilevel, epidemiological, genetic, or psychometric methods), and proficiency in statistical software such as R, Mplus, or Stata.
