Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – High Voltage to support electrification projects across study, FEED, and detailed engineering phases. The role includes responsibility for defining electrical system strategies, managing HV equipment packages, and ensuring technical compliance throughout engineering, fabrication, installation, and handover. The position takes close collaboration across disciplines and a strong understanding of both onshore and offshore electrical systems.

Main responsibilities

• Develop and specify electrical system solutions during study, FEED, and detailed engineering phases.
• Collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders across disciplines.
• Contribute to the design and execution of electrification scopes including land cables, subsea cables, and HV equipment for onshore and offshore substations.
• Prepare and maintain the main power supply package specification, defining technical and functional orders for high- and low-voltage suppliers.
• Manage HV equipment packages, transformers, GIS (gas-insulated switchgear), VSDs (variable speed drives), through all phases: engineering, fabrication, logistics, installation, contract follow-up, and handover.
• Support the development of electrical philosophies, strategies, typologies, diagrams, load lists, system descriptions, and PMS/PDCS systems.
• Follow up on electrical system calculations, analyses, and technical assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience from Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) projects.
• Extensive experience with high-voltage equipment packages (transformers, GIS, VSD).
• Strong understanding of electrical system analysis, transmission systems, and power distribution.
• Experience with offshore electrification projects.
• Capability in both conceptual and detailed engineering for large-scale projects.
• Deep knowledge of relevant standards: NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNV, IEC.
• EX Basic course (online 6–8 hrs or 22.5 hrs classroom).
• FSE with first aid certification.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work in multicultural project teams.
• Independent, systematic, and accurate work approach.
• High commitment to deadlines and quality stipulations.
• Proactive attitude, seeks advice, shares experience, and contributes positively to the team.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Norwegian.
