Marlink AS is seeking an experienced and result- driven Sales Manager for its Energy, Enterprise & Government (EEG) business unit. This role will primarily focus on driving sales growth and managing complex, technically oriented opportunities in an international environment.
Marlink Group holds a leading position in Northern Europe, one of our core markets. We continue to expand our footprint through a growing portfolio of hybrid satellite connectivity solutions, alongside the rapid development of our cyber and managed services. Nevertheless, a strong focus on our existing public sector customers remains a key priority for this role.
Responsibilities and selected work tasks:- Drive the full sales lifecycle, managing the sales funnel and business pipeline to secure and track new opportunities
- Act as the main point of contact for major customer engagements, including RFPs, tenders, and formal proposal responses
- Develop and implement customized sales and partner strategies aligned with campaign goals and customer requirements
- Consistently meet or exceed targets for new order intake, contracted sales, and gross margin performance
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders at both operational and procurement levels
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, customer-focused solutions that meet technical, commercial, and contractual requirements
- Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Track proposal progress and report against sales case objectives and timelines
- Ensure all proposal documentation is accurate, well-structured, and aligned with customer expectations
- Apply structured, strategic thinking to prioritize efforts and optimize response quality across opportunities
- Collect and share business intelligence and customer feedback
- Prepare internal approval documentation for management review
- Provide weekly updates on the status of proposals and ongoing sales activities
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication; additional languages are a plus
- Strong record of success in securing and closing sales opportunities
- Proven ability to identify and develop new markets and business leads
- Solid understanding of telecommunications and/or satellite technologies
- Proven ability to manage sales pipelines, plan and conduct contract negotiations and present in a compelling manner
- Experienced in managing complex sales pipelines, conducting negotiations, and delivering persuasive presentations
- Ability to draw up an offer which will comprise a technical and a commercial part to achieve agreements with potential business partners
- Skilled at developing holistic proposals, combining both technical and commercial elements
- Capable of building strategic relationships and influencing stakeholders effectively
- Self-reliant and proactive

- Resilient, with a solutions-oriented mindset and a “never give up” attitude
- Proactive and “thinking outside the box” approach to tasks
- Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to changing priorities
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or proposal management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing resources effectively.
- Background in satellite communications is highly desirable.
- Experience working with public sector clients or within regulated environments is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, economics, business administration, or a related field.
