Apprenticeships at an Arctic Island Hospitality Destination

At Ytri, we are creating an extraordinary hospitality destination on a remote island in Træna, one of Norway’s most spectacular coastal communities. Surrounded by the open sea, dramatic landscapes and a rich island culture, Ytri combines high-end accommodation, exceptional dining and authentic Arctic experiences.

As an apprentice with us, you will become part of an ambitious and passionate team dedicated to delivering world-class hospitality. Whether within culinary arts, service or front desk operations, you will gain hands-on experience in a extraordinary environment where quality, craftsmanship and genuine guest experiences are at the heart of everything we do.

Arbeidsoppgaver

As an apprentice at Ytri, you will become an important part of our daily operations and gain hands-on experience in a professional and ambitious hospitality environment. Depending on your apprenticeship path, your responsibilities may include:

Culinary (Kitchen)

- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality food experiences

- Learning modern cooking techniques, ingredient handling and kitchen operations

- Supporting daily mise en place and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety

- Contributing to exceptional guest dining experiences in close collaboration with the kitchen team

Service (Front of House)

- Delivering professional, warm and attentive service to guests

- Assisting with restaurant operations, table service and guest hosting

- Learning about food and beverage presentation, service standards and guest communication

- Helping create memorable dining experiences in a high-quality hospitality setting

Front Desk / Reception

- Welcoming and assisting guests throughout their stay

- Supporting check-in, check-out and reservation handling

- Providing information about Ytri, Træna and local experiences

- Helping ensure a seamless and exceptional guest journey from arrival to departure

Across all departments, you will

- Work closely with experienced colleagues and hospitality professionals

- Learn how to deliver exceptional guest experiences with attention to detail

- Contribute to a positive, professional and collaborative team environment

- Develop valuable skills in an inspiring and unique workplace at the edge of the Norwegian coast
