Ski technician at rental, ski workshop and Dynafit sales point center

Seasonal position from 1. December till 30. of May (flexible)

Work responsibilities:

• Ski touring and splitboarding equipment service and sale.
• Equipment maintenance including control over sale and rental stock, touring skis, splitboards and cross country skis preparation, necessary repairs, sharpening edges, waxing, adjusting equipment for users.
• Rentals, sales, and bookings responsibilities at Tromsø Outdoor Activity and Rental Center, primarily related to renting out touring skis and splitboards.
• Taking care of the equipment, preparing reservations and assisting customers with information about the gear and outdoor destinations in our area, replying customer emails related to the ski touring equipment.
• Direct customer service in the rental center, renting out snowshoes, cross-country skis, winter clothes, and bikes, instructing guests how to use the equipment and where to go to make the best of their holidays. Ski touring season starts in February but we want that person on this position is able to work with other rentals as well if needed.
• Taking care of the rental equipment and order in the rental center (including washing, cleaning etc.).

Position Requirements:

• Relevant work experience is necessary, candidate needs to have prior experience in working with ski/splitboard service, work in the rental center will be a great advantage.
• We will prioritize candidates with good knowledge of Tromsø area, winter equipment, outdoor activities and local experience, but if you are keen to educate yourself prior to work start we are looking forward to receiving your application.
• Good English written and spoken proficiency is necessary. Norwegian, German, French or Spanish will be an advantage but is not necessary.
• Enjoying and used to working in a flexible international environment.
• Teamwork, organization and control skills, attachment to the details, good memory, solution-oriented and positive attitude to work, colleagues, and customers are essential for this position.

Working Scheme Variable shifts between 8:00 and 19:00, between 3 and 10 hours daily, usually ca 7.5 hours daily. Occasionally work at other times (for private late or early delivery of equipment). 100 % position - ca.37.5 h/week, 2 days free for each week of work, work during the weekends and public holidays will be required.
