FPGA Test Developer

As a part of our scale up process, we are looking for a skilled and talented Python Test Developer at various career stages to join one our FPGA teams and help ensure the quality of one of the industry’s most advanced live production platforms. Whether you’re an experienced test developer or growing into a more senior role, you’ll work on cutting-edge live production technology alongside a strong, cross-functional team. Your job will be to develop Python tests and to build, maintain and improve the test system for FPGA verification.

At Appear, you’ll be part of a collaborative development environment with over 100 engineers across hardware, software, and FPGA. We work closely together to solve complex challenges, share knowledge, and continuously improve how we build and verify our technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based test systems for FPGA verification

• Collaborate closely with FPGA developers to define test acceptance criteria

• Work with hardware, software, and test teams to ensure seamless integration

• Develop automated tests for low-latency, high-bandwidth media systems

• Continuously improve test performance, quality, and reliability

• Stay up to date with new testing technologies and methodologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields

• 2-10 years of experience developing automated tests, preferably for hardware systems

• Strong Python skills and an interest in structured code

• Being curious, quality-oriented, and motivated to learn new technologies

• Experience with CI/CD or test automation frameworks is an advantage
