Lead purchasing where performance matters

For one of our clients, Jefferson Wells is looking for an experienced Purchasing professional for a 12‑month consultant assignment starting as soon as possible. The role is based in Oslo and requires solid purchasing experience, strong negotiation skills, and fluency in English and Norwegian. You will play a key role in site purchasing, supplier management and implementation of group procurement strategies.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for local site purchasing and vendor management including RFI and RFQ processes, negotiations and contract follow‑up
• Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing rules, processes and standards
• Support and execute category strategies in alignment with group and business unit objectives
• Act as level 1 escalation for purchasing operations at site level
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations and contract management
• Challenge needs and costs through functional analysis and standardization
• Monitor purchasing performance, savings and KPIs
• Provide reports to site management and group purchasing functions
• Contribute to risk mitigation, CSR compliance and supplier market analysis

Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree within a relevant field
• Minimum five years of experience within purchasing or procurement
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English and Norwegian, both written and spoken
• Very good Excel and analytical skills
• Results oriented, adaptive and collaborative
• Experience with SAP and Ariba is an advantage
