At Spond, we believe that sports and activities should be simple to organize and accessible to all. Every month, more than 3.5 million people around the world use Spond to communicate, organize events, and handle payments within their teams and clubs. We are a Norwegian consumer tech company on a mission to become the number one global sports organizing app. Spond is growing fast. We already have a strong position in our home market of Norway, where we have 1 million monthly active users, and a rapidly growing user base in international markets such as the UK, USA, Germany, and France. We are now seeking a Head of Marketing, who will build a marketing team, lead our marketing efforts, and play a key role in increasing user growth in existing and new markets.
As Head of Marketing, you will lead Spond’s global marketing strategy and execution, driving user acquisition through the most cost-efficient channels and creative campaigns. You will collaborate closely with product, sales, and local teams to scale Spond across Europe, the US and Oceania.
We’re looking for someone with passion and sharp instincts for marketing and business - who can identify opportunities, set priorities, define optimal marketing budget allocations, and lead our marketing efforts with pace and direction. To succeed as the Head of Marketing at Spond, you need to be both strategic and hands-on. The ability to ensure robust tracking, draw insights from data, and translate them into effective action, is crucial.
What you will do:

Build and scale a marketing team, and lead its day-to-day operations

Allocate marketing spend to the most efficient channels and tactics, based on strategic goals, data, and expertise

Maintain a strong brand identity, ensuring coherence and quality across all channels and markets

Understand the needs of target audiences in priority markets, and shape the marketing strategy accordingly

Contribute to the implementation of go-to-market playbooks for new markets

Plan and execute multichannel campaigns, working with internal and external creative and performance specialists

Develop systems for continuously improving marketing efficiency, including defining key marketing KPIs, monitoring campaign performance, and making decisions based on user and market data

Ensure compelling content that attracts, educates and retains target audiences

Define and run experiments, interpret and document test results
Who you are:

You have experience in consumer marketing, either from an in-house marketing role or as a consultant

You are a clear, structured and empathetic leader, driving progress and results

You are a critical thinker with the ability to solve complex problems

You are good at collaborating with stakeholders from across the organization, and finding practical ways to move things forward

You are comfortable designing and running experiments, and interpreting data to inform decisions

You have attention to detail and an eye for excellent written and visual content

You are familiar with analytics and advertising tools such as Meta/Google Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Semrush, and Hubspot
