📌 Role overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation/Senior Engineer to join our team in Asker. You will be working on study-phase projects within the oil and gas sector, including both greenfield and brownfield developments. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of automation system design from early concept stages, and to contribute as an Automation Lead when needed.

🔑 Key responsibilities

• Perform automation design for study projects (greenfield and brownfield) within oil and gas.
• Take on the Automation Lead role in study-phase projects when applicable.
• Define, specify, and design automation and SAS systems in early project phases.
• Develop key study documents: automation philosophies, system topologies, I/O budgets, and system descriptions.
• Prepare detailed design deliverables such as cause and effect (C&E) diagrams, signal cross references (SCDs), and HMI sketches.
• Organize and participate in discipline meetings, workshops, and technical reviews.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors throughout the study process.

🎓 Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in automation, electrical, or relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in automation engineering for greenfield oil and gas or HVDC projects.
• At least 4 years’ experience with automation and SAS system design and technical reviews.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working on brownfield projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
• Strong background in automation system design in FEED or study phase projects.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant standards: NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNVGL, IEC.
• Valid EX and FSE course certifications.
