Join us in continuing to revolutionize ocean space operations!
We are growing rapidly, and we are now looking for a commercially driven and structured Senior Buyer. In this role, you will take full ownership of our critical supply chains -- from the strategic procurement of high-tech components to seamless logistics execution for our global customers. Your core mission is to ensure cost-efficient and risk-mitigated procurement while navigating safely through complex international export control regulations. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our autonomous systems reach the market on time, with the right quality, and in full compliance with international standards.
To succeed, it will be essential to maintain close cooperation and coordination with several teams to ensure the best solutions for the customers, and us.
In this role, you will report directly to our Head of Supply Chain.
Your key responsibilities:-
Drive development and follow-up of our supplier base to ensure long-term and cost-efficient partnerships.
-
Take full ownership of strategic procurement for assigned categories, including mechanical parts, electronics, and sensors.
-
Lead RFQ processes and commercial negotiations, including pricing, Incoterms, and framework agreements.
-
Plan, coordinate, and execute international shipments (air, sea, road) with a focus on cost, lead time, and risk mitigation.
-
Manage trade compliance by ensuring all import/export processes follow applicable regulations (EAR, DEKSA, dual-use).
-
Prepare and validate shipping documentation and manage specialized processes like ATA Carnets.
-
Identify and exploit potential for cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
-
Establish and maintain procedures to ensure our supply chain performs at its best and meets requested standards.
-
Ensure company complianceby continuously seeking improvements and reporting deviations.
-
Higher education (BSc/MSc) within Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or Engineering.
-
5--7 years of experience in procurement, ideally from a technology-driven or maritime environment.
-
Strong knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
-
Experience with export control frameworks (EAR/DEKSA) and trade compliance.
-
Solid contract understanding and strong ERP system competence.
-
As an international company, we require fluency in both Norwegian and English; other languages are a big bonus.
-
Commercially driven and analytical, with a proven track record in negotiations.
-
Structured and risk-aware, especially when handling complex export regulations.
-
Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to manage parallel projects under pressure.
-
High integrity is a core value for you, particularly regarding compliance and trade ethics.
-
An inspiring team player with excellent communication skills who thrives in a cross-functional environment.
-
A stimulating and dynamic work environment at the forefront of innovative maritime technology.
-
A meaningful job with an important social mission. The autonomy we create ensures sustainable, efficient, and safe ocean space operations worldwide
-
A collaborative and growing team of passionate and highly competent professionals.
-
Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
-
A comprehensive and well-organized benefits package.
-
A strong sense of community, plenty of humour, and social activities that bind us together in a busy everyday life.
-
Trondheim's coolest office spaces right by the waterfront at Brattørkaia (and we mean it!)

Om bedriften
Since 2005, Maritime Robotics has pioneered and led the development of advanced sea drones (Uncrewed Surface Vessels USVs) and maritime autonomy. Our core technology, the autonomous navigation system (ANS), enables safe and efficient remote and autonomous operations at sea.
These robotic solutions are vital for precise seabed mapping, ocean research, securing marine infrastructure, and operations in challenging environments. Globally deployed ANS and USVs contribute to sustainable, efficient, and safe maritime navigation, minimizing fuel use. In today’s world, our technology is also crucial for protecting communities and assets. We see growing demand from defence, security, hydrography, marine construction, and the energy sector.
