Professor seeking functional assistants

I am a blind man, and I am working as Associate Professor at Universitetet i Innlandet. I work a few days in Lillehammer every week, and the rest in Oslo.

I am looking for two new people to join my team, one in Lillehammer and one in Oslo, who can work as a functional assistant and a reading and writing secretary.

The job mainly involves two types of work: Office work:

• Dealing with emails and official documents

• Translate and write from Norwegian to English, and English to Norwegian

• Technical assistance with Zoom and Teams events, meetings, and lectures

• Work with the MS Office package

Accompany me at lectures, seminars, workshops, and conferences:

• Assist me at lunch times, choose food from buffets, etc., at other social gatherings

• Have an overview and accompany me around – you are my eyes

• Interpretation from Norwegian to English if required

I'm looking for a person who is:

Flexible, social, resourceful, adaptable, and solution-oriented

Your qualifications:

• Education: It’s an advantage if you are or have been studying in relevant fields such as pedagogy, special needs education, political or social sciences, or social work

• Bilingual: You have good Norwegian and English skills (both oral and written)

• Good digital knowledge: Must be able to use MS Office package, Zoom, and Teams

Additional details:
This is a part-time position that will be split between at least two assistants, approximately 40 hours in total per week – 20 hours as a functional assistant and 20 as a reading/writing secretary. (For travel and other events, the workload might increase.)
