Semco Maritime is seeking a highly competent and motivated Manager -- Drilling and hydraulic equipment to lead our inspection operations across multiple regions. The role is strategic and operational, combining technical authority with commercial and leadership responsibility.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in engineering, project management, inspection management, and regulatory compliance from the offshore drilling industry, together with the ability to drive performance, manage costs, and develop high-performing technical teams. The candidate must also have experience from sales and customer contact.

In Norway, Semco Maritime AS is located at Hanøytangen and in Stavanger, both with our Service & Maintenance department and our manpower company. At Hanøytangen we work with rig maintenance and maritime projects while taking an active role in the green shift by developing energy storage and hybrid systems. Stavanger based M&S deliver its services to both Hanøytangen as well as yards and offshore both in Norway and other locations worldwide.

Semco Maritime -- Rig & Marine Division have offices in Denmark (head office), Norway, UK, US, Guyana, Spain and Brasil.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and develop Drilling and hydraulic Equipment department, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and profitability.

  • Oversee all inspection, certification, and maintenance activities related to drilling, lifting and other hydraulic equipment, in accordance with NORSOK, LOLER, ISO, API and Class Society standards.

  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian PSA regulations and other global regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain technical procedures, inspection plans, and equipment integrity strategies in line with NORSOK R-003/R-005, Class standards and worldwide regulatory requirements.

  • Manage large-scale inspection and maintenance projects, from planning through execution, ensuring quality, safety, and budget adherence.

  • Oversee resource planning, cost control, and financial forecasting for the division.

  • Build and mentor multidisciplinary teams of engineers, inspectors, and technicians, promoting continuous improvement and competence development.

  • Collaborate closely with clients, class societies, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparent communication and exceptional service delivery.

  • Contribute to innovation initiatives such as digital inspection systems, data-driven integrity management, and predictive maintenance solutions.

  • Sales & business development activities.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Higher education in Mechanical, Marine, or Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 7--10 years of relevant experience within the oil and gas, marine, or energy sectors, with a focus on drilling, lifting, hydraulic and inspection services.

  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, budgets, and large-scale projects in a high-compliance environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of NORSOK standards (R-003, R-005), DNV-ST-0378, EN 13852, and other lifting appliance regulations.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Class Society, API, and worldwide regulatory requirements for crane and drilling equipment integrity.

  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen; capable of balancing technical precision with business objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client interfaces and build long-term relationships.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Norwegian is a strong advantage.
