Packaging is often the first interaction people have with our products and plays a key role in how quality, usability, and sustainability are experienced.
The Packaging Team has been built over the past three years as a central capability within the development departments, responsible for packaging and casing solutions across Laerdal’s portfolio. We are now looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our Packaging Team.
As a Packaging Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our solutions are technically robust, efficient, and continuously improving supporting both large redesign projects and smaller optimisation opportunities.
In this role, you will help shape the packaging and transport solutions that support our life-saving products, used by healthcare professionals across the world.
The team owns packaging and casing solutions across the organisation, working to improve consistency, reduce complexity, and drive sustainability through smarter design and standardisation. With a strong pipeline of both new developments and improvement initiatives.

Contribute to the design and development of packaging and transport cases

Develop technical specifications

Perform testing and technical verification

Collaborate closely with product teams, sourcing, logistics, and production

Support the overall strategy and development of the packaging area

Work closely with the sustainability and materials team to reduce the environmental impact

Identify and drive improvements in packaging processes to reduce waste and cost

Stay updated on test protocols, standards, regulatory requirements and manufacturing techniques

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Product development, Packaging engineering, or similar

1-5 years of relevant experience

Experience with product lifecycle management

Experience in ArtiosCad, PLM systems, LCA is nicely considered

Strong collaboration skills in cross disciplinary teams

Structured, proactive and independent, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and solutions

Good communicator, able to translate technical insights into practical solutions
