We are now looking for a Sub‑contract Advisor who can contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. In this role, you will support Field Development and Offshore Wind projects from early tender stages through execution and close‑out, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that subcontracts are strategically developed, well managed, and aligned with project and contractual requirements.
You will establish subcontract strategies and manage agreements throughout the project lifecycle, including budgets, cost follow‑up, variation orders, and compliance with contractual obligations. The role also involves providing commercial and contractual guidance, supporting risk and change processes, ensuring alignment with the main contract, and following up subcontractor performance to enable informed decision‑making.
Qualifications-
Solid contractual, commercial, technical, and legal background, preferably from Oil & Gas or Offshore Wind
-
Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred, but relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education
-
Experience managing complex subcontracts across sectors such as construction, ISO services, and marine operations, including work under multiple jurisdictions (e.g., English and Norwegian law)
-
Strong understanding of contract structures, risk allocation, compliance requirements, and performance management, combined with experience in negotiation, drafting, administration, and dispute resolution
-
Strong analytical abilities with sound interpretation of contractual terms, and effective collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external subcontractors
-
Excellent communication and documentation skills
You are an effective communicator with a collaborative mindset, able to build constructive relationships across disciplines. Your work style is organized and accurate, and you take ownership of your responsibilities, delivering high‑quality work within agreed deadlines. You demonstrate a commercial mindset with an understanding of financial impacts and work well with project control functions and shared processes. Proactive in seeking advice and sharing knowledge, you contribute to a supportive learning culture. You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken, while Norwegian language skills are considered an advantage.
