Senior Reservoir Geologist
Senior Reservoir GeologistDNO ASA is looking for a Senior Reservoir Geologist to work in our Subsurface Team in Oslo.
The reservoir geologist will be joining an international and dynamic working environment alongside experienced, skilled and motivated colleagues. The position will be based in DNO's corporate Oslo headquarters within a team of geoscientists focused on the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Key responsibilities:- Conduct detailed geological analysis of fractured carbonate reservoirs to assess their production potential
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support exploration, development, and production activities, optimizing reservoir performance and enhancing recovery strategies
- Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering data to develop comprehensive conceptual reservoir models
- Create and maintain high-quality geomodels to capture reservoir characteristics, reservoir behaviour and subsurface uncertainty
- Seismic interpretation of compressional structures
- Appraisal/development well target definition and well planning inputs
- Supporting other teams for operational activities during drilling and testing if needed
- Post well geological evaluation
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Mentor junior geologists and provide guidance in best practices and innovative approaches to reservoir characterization
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in reservoir geology, modelling techniques and carbonate systems
- Master's degree or higher in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir geology, with a preferred focus on fractured carbonate reservoirs
- Experienced with reservoir characterization, including integration of seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, core description and analysis, well logs, image log data, stimulation, well tests and production history
- Experienced with 3D geomodelling including fracture network modelling. Knowledge and hands-on experience in modelling dual porosity and dual permeability fields is an advantage
- Understanding of key carbonate subsurface uncertainties and their impact on reservoir behaviour
- Experienced in seismic interpretation
- Solid understanding of structural geology, especially in compressional settings, is an advantage
- Target planning for development and appraisal wells
- Probabilistic volume assessment and risking.
- Proficient in Petrel software
- Experience in geomechanics and / or geochemistry is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex geological concepts and uncertainties to diverse audiences. Fluency in verbal and written English language
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
