What we can offer you

As a Geotechnical Engineer in Ocean Installer, you are assigned to a variety of teams depending on requirements and availability.

In your assignment you will deliver geotechnical support to the relevant work scope together with your co-workers in the project team. You will hold and expert role in the project and be overall responsible for the geotechnical scope. Based on the support requirement of the individual project, you will either carry out the required geotechnical engineering yourselves or follow up sub-contractors. The geotechnical engineer on the projects is normally technical lead on all trenching and rock installation scopes. This includes going offshore as Ocean Installer’s client representative onboard 3rd party trenching and rock installation vessels.

You will provide geotechnical input to procedures, analyses and calculations, and also estimates for durations in offshore schedules. You will be an active participant in developing technical solutions related to the geotechnical aspect of marine construction work.

The line responsibility for the position lays with the geotechnical discipline in the engineering department. The discipline lead will assign work scopes, train, and support you as needed.

• BSc or MSc degree in the area of Geotechnical Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from the Oil & Gas/Maritime industry
• Experience from seabed intervention and rock installation
• Experience of onshore project management of geotechnical work scopes
• Structured and accurate when writing technical documentation /procedures
• Able to meet short deadlines and manage a high workload
• Being self-driven and able to take charge of your own tasks with good time management
