About the position and the project
The positionAt the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH), there is a temporary 50% position available as a researcher (code 1108) affiliated with the research project Innovation4ALL – Diversifying Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training in Higher Education.
The position is connected to the Department of Sport and Social Sciences (IIS).
This is a fixed-term position with a planned start date approximately August 15 2026 and a duration of 1 year and 8 months.
The position is funded through the NFR project Innovation4ALL.
The researcher will be based at the Department of Sport and Social Sciences at NIH.
The projectInnovation4ALL is a research and development project that examines how entrepreneurship education in higher education can become more inclusive, particularly with regard to gender and migration background.
The project is a collaboration between NIH and the University of Oslo (UiO), combining research expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with practice-oriented expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The project is structured as an evaluation research project (‘følgeforskning’) and includes, among other things:
- mapping the state-of-the-art
- development of research design and evaluation tools
- data collection and analysis
- development and testing of tools for educators
- workshops and dissemination activities
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute to the project’s work packages and key parts of the research process. Tasks include:
- conducting literature reviews and knowledge mapping
- developing research designs, surveys, and interview guides
- contributing to applications for ethical approval (Sikt/GDPR)
- data collection (surveys, interviews, focus groups, and document analysis)
- qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- development of research-based tools and resources
- planning and conducting workshops and project activities
- contributing to scientific publications and research dissemination
Qualifications and selection process
Required- a completed master’s degree in the social sciences, humanities, or sociology
- documented experience with research work
- strong written and oral communication skills in English
- experience from the Norwegian higher education sector
- experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- experience handling sensitive data in accordance with regulations (GDPR)
- experience with research projects in relevant fields
In the assessment of applicants for interviews and final ranking, a comprehensive evaluation of education, experience, and personal suitability will be conducted. Relevant candidates will be invited for interviews.

- experience with data collection and analysis
