We are seeking a postdoc fellow in translational proton therapy research at our new, state-of-the art preclinical
proton therapy facility at Oslo University Hospital. The project aims to
develop a novel strategy for proton therapy, combining metabolic drugs with
proton irradiation to improve treatment outcomes of patients with prostate
cancer. A central objective is to establish a robust preclinical pipeline for
proton-drug combination therapies, integrating medical imaging and digital
histopathology, with a goal for future clinical translation.
Work will be carried out in a cross-disciplinary team spanning radiation biology, physics, oncology, radiology, and pathology, with close links to our clinical collaborators at the hospital. The position is available for 3 years, with the possibility of extension.

- Conduct pre-clinical studies in tumor-bearing mice
- Apply MR imaging, histopathology, transcriptomics, and related methods to assess tumor response markers following proton-drug combination therapy
- Link preclinical data to existing pretreatment data of prostate cancer patients
Qualifications
Required- PhD in biology, biophysics, biotechnology, or related fields
- Hands-on experience with experimental research (cells and/or animal models)
Preferred
- Expertise in animal models
- Expertise in MRI, histopathology, ionizing radiation, and molecular analyses
- Experience with statistical methods for large scale data and image analysis
