We are looking for an IT Business Continuity Manager that would be the functional lead for IT crisis management in the bank responsible for establishing and implementing plans for continuity of applications and technological infrastructure and ensuring that appropriate governance is in place for critical IT incidents. Responsibilities in relation to this are as follows:
- Defining the entity's technological contingency strategy
- Lead the execution of technological contingency tests together with system owners
- Ensure alignment of IT contingency procedures with Bank’s BCM policy and collaboration with 2LOD
- Prepare the IT Organization for critical and major incidents by executing relevant drills and tests and supporting the IT organization in leading at times management of these incidents and participating in business continuity committees when such events occur
- Lead the War rooms and critical incidents (when required) supporting incident team ensuring that incidents are appropriately resolved and subsequent problems are established for further analysis and mitigation
- Reporting to management on execution of technological contingency tests and general IT BCM posture
- Review the policy and procedures for back-ups, restores and IT contingency management and ensure their adherence.
- Review and analyse Business Continuity/Recovery plans, policies and practices in the bank, ensuring their alignment to business RTO and RPO and bank’s BIA.
- Support the service managers to mitigate the risk of outsourcing services by setting up controls to ensure effective delivery in the event of a contingency
- Establish and implement an annual testing plan to specify the scope of each test, the persons responsible, the types of test and the testing dates, ensuring the plans are in line with policies and procedures in Bank.
- Regular reporting to management on the progress of the continuity test
- Together with other IT risk managers, review and monitor the processes, KPIs and controls around critical incident management and IT BCM and ensure their adherence
- Perform analysis of the events, end to end dependencies and incidents that may trigger contingency activation and integrate them in contingency planning
- Lead the IT War rooms during the critical IT incidents (when required) ensuring the critical Incident management process is followed
- Prepare the organization for the major IT Incidents and lead at times the management of these incidents and be part of the business continuity committees in the bank when such events occur
- Ensure that IT crisis management processes are regularly communicated across organization and tested, including regular training is provided to the key resources and stakeholders that will be part of these processes
- Lead the collaboration, assessment and execution with 2LOD of Bank’s BCM Strategy.
- 5-10 years in a related technology position (Incident, Problem or Service manager position, Operations Lead, BCM, Risk Management etc.)
- Experience in planning and executing site-based recovery exercises, achieving Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives is beneficial
- Master or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
- Certifications in Service Management disciplines such as ITIL, CoBIT, etc.is beneficial
- Familiarity with IT terminology, technical concepts, and DR planning considerations such as backup and recovery, replication, and redundancy. Experience in sourcing backup and recovery tools and managed services is beneficial.
- Good knowledge, understanding experience with a wide variety of industry standard infrastructure hardware, tools, and software.
- In-depth understanding of IT Service Operation within the ITIL framework (Incident Management, Event Management and Problem Management)
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral in English
