Rainforest Foundation Norwayseeks an experienced Policy Adviser for the Indonesia and PNG program. The position is a temporary substitute position for 1 year.

We are seeking a Policy Adviser for the Indonesia and PNG Program to be responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering processes related to country-specific policy priorities in alignment with the overall strategic framework for the program and the organisation. The position is additionally expected to give inputs to further strategy development within the relevant thematic and geographic scope.

Location: Oslo.

**Reporting Structure:**This position will report directly to the head of the relevant country program.

**Travel Requirements:**The role requires availability to travel within Indonesia and PNG.

Key responsibilities:

· Carry out complex assessments and analyses and guide and support others in RFN within the area of responsibilities.

· Develop policies and contribute to relevant programmes and processes on country-specific policy priorities aligned with the organization’s strategic framework in country and across programs.

· Entail frequent external communication to advise, inform, and guide and occasionally negotiate and influence projects, programs, and relevant stakeholders.

· Lead departmental projects, task forces, and working groups.

· Develop and implement policy focused partnerships/projects, in line with the country(-ies) and partnership frameworks and other RFN policies and procedures.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

· Advanced knowledge in legal and policy analysis acquired through higher education (normally a master's degree) and/or relevant experience. Formal education can be compensated with documented and relevant experience.

· Ability to work independently with limited guidance from a manager.

· Experience in multicultural and international working environment settings.

· Fluency in written and verbal English is required.

· Good collaborative and communication skills with the ability to build and use networks for advocacy work.

· Experience in assessing opportunities, challenges, and stakeholders with which to engage.

· Personal attributes - strong interpersonal and analytical skills with problem-solving ability.
