This position is part of IT Operations and the IT Infrastructure Management team. We are responsible for the IT Infrastructure in Aker BP, onshore and offshore. We are responsible for delivering robust, secure and scalable cloud and onprem IT services to support Aker BP's digital ambitions.
Working with IT and the transition towards Cloud Native technologies at Aker BP means being at the forefront of digital transformation in the energy sector. You'll help shape scalable, resilient, and secure platforms that empower our teams to innovate faster and operate smarter. From designing modern infrastructure to enabling real-time data insights, your contributions will directly support Aker BP's ambition to be the E&P company of the future. We operate our Infrastructure together with our IT service partner, Vivicta (former TietoEvry), we have an "Azure first" strategy, use Copilot and embrace AI.
Typical work tasks can be:- Strategy & Roadmap: Align database and cloud capabilities with business needs, collaborate across teams to prioritize initiatives, and communicate platform goals.
- Service Delivery & Reporting: Ensure service levels and compliance, promote adoption through clear practices, coordinate with support functions, and oversee infrastructure maintenance.
- Quality, continuity & Improvement: Support incident handling and license management, identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize performance, and implement reliability strategies.
- Training & Support: Drive service adoption, provide training and documentation, and empower users with the tools and knowledge needed for effective platform use.
- Education - University degree within IT Infrastructure or similar. Relevant experience can compensate for education.
- Strong understanding of database platforms (SQL, Oracle) and cloud technologies, especially Azure and preferably OCI
- You must have experience with some of the following areas:
- IaC (e.g Terraform), development/scripting/DevOps tools
- ITIL/Service Delivery models and tools (E.g. Service Now)
- Architecture work and technical design
- Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Architecture
- Advising and gathering requirements from internal customers
- "Hands on"-experience
- Fluent abilities in Norwegian and English, both verbal and written.
