For 130 years, we’ve been committed to continuously improving what we do for our guests and the people we work with. We are looking for a new colleague to join us - Service and Network Engineer in our Network and Maritime OT-team.
You will be responsible for the performance of all network and maritime operational technical devices and communication services in cooperation with the team and ship management. This includes, but is not limited to, follow-up of all service requests; documenting and management of infrastructure and OT devices; documenting, planning and execution of maintenance; coordination (team, company and with vendors) and execution of major initiatives.
Key responsibilities:- Establishing network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
- Maintaining network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
- Performing diagnostics of network and OT systems issues, providing support for service desk staff.
- Updating and maintaining network and OT documentation, assigning IP addresses and configurations
- Taking part in and assisting in project-oriented tasks and deliveries containing networking and OT elements.
- Expanding the automation and orchestration across both IT and OT platforms.
- Ensuring that we are compliant with the legal regulations of the systems we maintain.
- Management and configuration of wireless and cabled infrastructure.
- Manage routers and firewalls.
- Maintain master plans and plan out future projects and dockings.
- Maintain critical systems, networks and servers with patching cycles.
- Work together with the company “CISO” in strengthening the security posture on the infrastructure.
- Procurement, configuration and installation of new network and OT devices.
- Proactive work onboard the ships and offices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or relevant experience
- CCNA, CCNP or Fortinet equivalent certifications is a plus
- Strong communications skills
- Strong Norwegian and English skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience with automation tools, such as but not limited to Ansible and node-red
- Experience from the maritime sector is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills
- Articulate & methodical approach to problem solving
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivation with commitment, drive and enthusiasm
- A “can do” outlook with ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Passion for IT
- Willing to travel
