Skilled wooden boat builder/trebåtbygger

The ”Vessel Preservation Center of Northern Norway” is looking for skilled craftsmen.

The NordNorsk Fartøyvernsenter or Vessel Preservation Center of Northern Norway (NNFA) is one of 3 national vessel preservation centers.

Our primary goal is to preserve and pass on knowledge about restoring, maintaining and running older wooden boats and vessels with a certain historical value.

We restore boats and vessels according to traditional techniques and working methods with antiquarian guidelines.

We obtain and maintaine knowledge by research, documentation and the training of our craftsmen and apprentices.

Our national field includes semi-diesel engines, electrical marine equipment, technical installations and North-Norwegian and Sami boatbuilding traditions.

The NNFA is primarily looking for skilled wooden boatbuilders.

Regular skilled carpenters who have affinity for old boats are encouraged to apply.

We primarily need full-time employees, but it is possible to apply for one project at the time with a minimum duration of three months.

We can offer an interesting and challenging job in a unique and international environment. Working conditions are good, the company is in a time of growth. Tools and safety gear are provided.

The NNFA is situated in the coastal municipality of Gratangen in the county of Troms and is within driving range from the cities of Harstad (1 1/2 hr) and Narvik (1 hr).
