Kitemill is a Norwegian company developing airborne wind systems.

We are now moving into the next phase with our ISR systems and are seeking the right candidate to become our Head of Sales & Commercial.

You will be Kitemill's first dedicated commercial asset.

You will work directly alongside the CEO and CFO to build the sales engine --- pipeline, deal motion, contract templates, customer-reference base --- and then hire and lead the team that scales it.

This is not a quota-carrying seat inside an existing machine.

It is the job of defining what the machine looks like for a category that is being created as you sell it.

What you will do
  • Own the full commercial cycle for ISR lease contracts: identification, qualification, technical dialogue, commercial structuring, negotiation, signature, and handover to delivery.
  • Build a named-account plan across defense primes, armed forces procurement bodies, critical-infrastructure operators, emergency services, energy developers, and utilities in priority EU markets.
  • Shape the lease product itself --- pricing model, service levels, risk allocation --- in partnership with the CEO and CFO.
  • Your voice on what the market will actually sign is decisive.
  • Represent Kitemill at industry events, customer sites, and at the technical-evaluation level where defense and utility buyers demand proof before procurement.
  • As volume grows, recruit and lead additional sales and key-account staff.
What we expect you to bring
  • A track record of closing complex, long-cycle contracts within utilities, IPPs, defence primes, or critical-infrastructure owners.
  • The ability to speak with credibility to both a CFO or procurement director as well as engineers, pilots and operators, in their own language.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe and to Kitemill's site in Voss for integration with the engineering and operations teams.
  • Full working proficiency in English.
  • Additional European languages are an advantage.
What will make you stand out
  • Direct experience with defense procurement cycles (NATO member states, EDA, national MoD frameworks).
  • Relationships inside energy utilities or infrastructure operators at the level where lease and PPA decisions are actually made.
  • A background that sits comfortably between commercial and technical --- engineering degree plus commercial career, or vice versa.
  • Prior experience as the first commercial hire in a hardware company that subsequently scaled.

  • Energy --- utilities and energy developers procuring clean generation in places where towers, diesel, or grid connections fail the economics.
