Instech Solutions has been at the forefront of marine insurance technology development for nearly 30 years. Now, we’re embarking on our most ambitious voyage yet: building a new cloud-based insurance system from the ground up! To help us navigate these exciting waters, we are searching for a Test Automation Engineer to take ownership of test automation and quality practices across our products.In this role, you will help ensure high product quality while enabling fast and continuous delivery of value to our users -- important stuff!

Together with our other test automation engineers you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of test automation frameworks for the products we develop.You will also help define and promote best practices in test automation to support long-term quality improvements.

What you will do

In this role, you’ll take an important part in shaping how we deliver quality across our new cloud‑based platform. You’ll design, develop, and maintain automated UI tests using our low‑code automation framework, while also working hands‑on with both API and load testing and contributing to accessibility testing where needed.

You’ll provide clear and meaningful testing metrics that support data‑driven decisions, and when required, you’ll design and execute manual test cases, manage defects, investigate root causes, and troubleshoot issues to keep our delivery process running smoothly.

Staying up to date with modern tools, technologies, and testing approaches will be a natural part of your work. Collaboration is central to how we operate, and you’ll work closely with developers to ensure testability and quality are built in from the start. You’ll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes, best practices, and quality metrics, and play an active role in sharing knowledge within the test team and across the wider organisation.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for someone with a relevant technical education, although strong hands‑on experience can certainly replace formal qualifications. You bring at least three years of experience in software testing and test automation, and you’re comfortable working with code‑based automation tools as well as Postman, JMeter, and Azure Load Testing. You have working knowledge of JavaScript and a solid understanding of modern web applications, APIs, HTTP, and CI/CD pipelines.

If you have experience with security testing --- or are willing to learn --- that’s a plus. We’re also looking for someone who is curious and eager to grow, gradually expanding into new areas of test automation. Experience with Jira for test and defect management is expected, along with familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail.
