On behalf of hospitals in Ireland, we are looking for pediatricians for 12- or 24-month positions, with the possibility of extension.

This is a great opportunity for doctors who want to develop professionally in a new healthcare system while gaining international experience in an English-speaking environment.

We are especially interested in candidates with experience or an interest in pediatric neurology, pediatric cardiology or pediatric emergency medicine. These roles are well suited for doctors who want to apply their expertise in a new setting while combining work with new life experiences. For the right candidate, this is also an attractive opportunity to experience life as a travel doctor in Ireland.

About the position

As a specialist, you will play an important role in the assessment, treatment and follow-up of children and adolescents within your field. Daily work will vary depending on subspecialty and hospital, but all roles combine clinical work with collaboration, supervision and contribution to service development.

The main demand is in larger cities, particularly Cork, Dublin, and Limerick.

Key responsibilities
  • Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric patients within your subspecialty

  • Follow-up of patients in outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and day care settings

  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

  • Participation in planning and coordinating care pathways for children with complex needs

  • Supervision of residents and other healthcare staff

  • Contribution to patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical development

  • Participation in on-call and emergency duties where applicable

Subspecialties
  • Pediatric neurology
The role may include outpatient clinics, inpatient care, day treatment, consultative work, and participation in on-call rotations.

  • Pediatric cardiology
Typical tasks include outpatient clinics, evaluation of referred and admitted patients, and follow-up of children with congenital or acquired heart conditions. Some roles may also involve procedures or specialized clinics.

  • Pediatric emergency medicine
The position involves acute assessment and treatment of children in emergency departments, clinical leadership in urgent situations, collaboration with other specialties, and contribution to service development.

We are looking for candidates who
  • Are specialists in pediatrics

  • Hold medical authorisation and specialist recognition from an EU/EEA country

  • Have experience in pediatric neurology, cardiology or emergency medicine

  • Are motivated to work in a new healthcare system

  • Have excellent English communication skills

  • Thrive in a dynamic environment with close collaboration and a wide range of clinical cases

We offer
  • 12- or 24-month contracts, with the possibility of extension

  • Opportunity to gain international experience in an English-speaking healthcare system

  • Professional development in established and growing pediatric departments

  • Close support throughout the entire recruitment process

  • Assistance with registration, interviews, and relocation

  • Opportunity to visit Ireland before making a decision, preferably together with your partner or family

Salary

The base salary depends on experience and typically ranges from approximately €233,000 to €280,000 gross per year.
