About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedSenior Engineer with a strong background in structural design and analysis of floating offshore structures to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and improving our floating offshore wind turbine design, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging and innovative projects, and to contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct involvement in the development of both global and local structural design.
- Conduct global and local structural analyses of floating offshore wind turbine design.
- Provide input, guidance, and comments to structural drawings.
- Project execution and follow-up towards yard.
- Challenge and improve existing methods and models for how we assess dynamic floater performance, wave-structure interaction, in Ultimate and Fatigue Limit States.
- Work closely with our team of engineers to optimize our floating wind turbine design and ensure its safety, reliability, and efficiency in a lifetime perspective.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance and support to other team members as required.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in floating offshore wind turbine design and apply this knowledge to improve our technologies and processes.
- Develop and implement numerical models using Python and perform analysis using software packages such as Sesam.
- Conduct data analysis and visualization and generate technical reports.
Qualifications:
- A Master's or PhD degree in Marine Technology, Ocean Engineering, Physics or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis of floating offshore structures, such as:
- Structural analysis
- Hydrodynamic analysis
- Global and local structural design
- Structural drawings and delivery of design packages for Class approval
- Time-domain coupled analysis
- Experience with global and local structural design, finite element analysis and diffraction/radiation analysis is beneficial.
- Practical experience from fabrication yard will be beneficial.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with software packages such as SESAM.
- Experience with relevant DNV recommended practices, rules and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English (oral and written), with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
- A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to creating sustainable solutions.
