WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

The Vessel Operations team consists of 10 dedicated members located in Oslo and onboard our fleet of Cable Laying Vessels (CLVs). This team is at the helm of operating two CLVs, with a third set to launch in Q2 2026. We're responsible for vessel operation and fleet management across a wide spectrum of project demands. As a Superintendent , you'll be based in Oslo, reporting to the NVM Vessel Technical Manager and Technical Superintendent within Nexans Vessel Operations.

GETTING A FLYING START

In this Superintendent role, you'll take on dynamic responsibilities that support the execution and development of marine and vessel operations throughout Nexans' projects. You'll act as both an operational contributor and technical advisor, guiding vessel operations across tendering, planning, and execution phases.

Key responsibilities:

• Supply vessel operational input during tendering, engineering, and execution.

• Secure procedures, equipment, and personnel required for marine operations.

• Adhere to company regulations while promoting and practicing proactive HSE leadership.

• Lead or participate in toolbox talks, SJAs, observation reporting, and safety action closure.

• Contribute to design reviews, tender meetings, risk analysis, and vessel suitability surveys.

• Support development and maintenance of vessel marine equipment and project readiness.

• Track industry trends, tools, and competitors---keeping the team ahead of the curve.

• Act in line with Nexans' RASCI matrix and be adaptable to other relevant project duties.

YOUR STARTING POINT

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:

• Solid experience in managing and executing complex marine and vessel operations.

• Hands-on involvement in cable laying and trenching activities.

• Excellent written and spoken command of English and Norwegian.

• Confident decision-making and interpersonal skills across stakeholders.

• A strong sense of ownership and commitment to high HSE and technical standards.

This position supports onsite and offshore operations with teams of up to 30 members. While based in Oslo, occasional travel and flexible working hours may be required to support ongoing project demands.
